The entire cake was specialty flavor Tiramisu – an Italian sponge cake soaked in Illy espresso, Myer’s Dark Rum and Marsala, filled with a Mascarpone cheese custard and grated Callebaut chocolate. For the kids and lactose-intolerant guests, Rachel ordered a dozen dairy-free cupcakes in lemon meringue.
Friday I delivered an Art Deco inspired cake to the Crown Ballroom in Portland, OR. Bride Rachel chose a fondant-covered, mixed shape cake with two round tiers and one middle square for 100 servings. The piping design of the wide black ribbons at the base of the round tiers mimic the sash of her wedding dress, the art-deco design on the center tier is taken from the wedding invitation and was done with a custom stencil by Oklahoma Stencils, a favorite vendor of mine! We added some feathers on top for that flapper flair and additional fresh flowers from Floral Designs by Alicia were added to the cake on-site (this pic was taken before Alicia’s beautiful flowers were added).

Hi, I have wanted to write about something like this on my own blog and you gave me an idea. It always stimulates me to search for some new blogs and such valuable content as “Art Deco Wedding Cake – Laurie Clarke Cakes”. I am looking forward to your next post. Appreciate your work
